Installing the Alcatel OneTouch W800 USB modem on Windows
The LINK W800 is a slim and lightweight 4G internet key which gives users fast and convenient access to the internet, great to keep in your bag when travelling, to use on the train or at airports, allowing you stay on top of what's happening in the office while you're on the move.

Installation
Connect the W800 to an available USB port on your computer. Windows will detect new hardware automatically and install a removable storage device:
Launch the "Web Connection.exe" installer file:
Select your desired installation language:
Click Next:
Specify where you want the required program files to be saved and click Next:
Click Install. The required program files and drivers will be copied to the computer. Once complete, click Finish:
An icon will be added to the desktop and to the Start menu for "Web Connection". Double click the icon to access the configuration pages for the W800 which will open in your web browser:
NOTE - if the page is not displayed, try connecting to the device's default IP address which should be http://192.168.0.1
The connection status of the device will be displayed, together with signal strength information and SMS message count. To adjust settings, login with a password of "admin".

and also configure security details for the WiFi hotspot feature of the device:
Under the Connection menu, select Profile Management to enter cellular connection settings:
The W800 contains connection settings for a wide range of networks. The device will attempt to use the appropriate connection settings automatically based on the SIM card inserted into the device:
To enter connection settings manually, select the option to create a New profile. Save the profile once all required settings have been entered and set the profile as the default.
Within Network Mode you can search for available network operators and connect manually if preferred:

The W800 also features an SMS text message manager, with the ability to compose, read and manage text messages - which can be stored either on the SIM card or on the device's own memory:
Within the Settings menu advanced device configuration settings can be adjusted:
